Our summit day started at 2 am and entailed a long, upward traverse beneath the summit pyramid. By around 5 am, the sun started to rise, casting a shadow of our mountain off towards Nanga Parbat in the extreme distance while turning Masherbrum golden. Here, Kevin and Fred are following in my tracks. With the wind blowing steadily and the sun still several hours from warming us, let's just say it was rather chilly up there. |
